Mr Tang Rui, Chief Consul of China in Manchester, paid a visit to Faulkner Court which is home to a large community of our Chinese residents, as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
Mr Tang said, “It is an honour to come and pay my respect to the Chinese elder community at Faulkner Court.
I would like to extend my best wishes for the year of the Dragon, and I hope to have the opportunity to meet and communicate with you again in the future.
I'm wishing everyone will have a prosperous and happy new year.”
20 of our residents took part in the celebrations where Mr Tang gave a short speech before exchanging gifts and sharing in an afternoon tea.
Michelle Clay, Housing and Customer Service Manager, said “We are very pleased to host a visit to Faulkner Court for Consul General, Mr Tang, and his team, along with leaders from the Chinese business community.

This was a wonderful occasion enjoyed by all as a time to celebrate friendships between Chinese and British peoples.
