Floating Housing
Support ...

A culturally sensitive floating support service
is available to our own tenants and residents of other housing schemes
who may be experiencing difficulties in maintaining their own tenancy.
Support is provided to enable tenants gain the skills required to
maintain their independence without putting their home at risk
The aim of our floating support services is:
To provide individuals, who may need additional
help in maintaining their housing situation, with appropriate support
to maintain an independent lifestyle in a culturally sensitive manner
The services are housing related and generally
run from a couple of months up to two years. The level of support
clients receive will vary depending on their needs. The service
is extremely flexible in this way and can compliment other support
packages that clients may have
The service is funded through Supporting People
grant, which is paid directly to us and so clients do not need to
worry about the payments
The service offers a range of support for up to
2 years, including:
- Access to housing and tenancy support
- Debt & money management, rent arrears &
benefits
- Neighbourhood issues
- Mental health support and advice
- Drug or alcohol misuse
- Education, training & employment
- Information on local community & cultural
services
Individuals can be referred to the service or
you can apply yourself. Everyone who is eligible will be interviewed
and an assessment is made as to the priority of need. Higher priorities
may be taken onto the service immediately. Lower priorities may
have to go on a waiting list but we will also signpost to alternative
services that may be able to assist
