Financial Assistance for British Gas Customers with Fuel Debts and/or Other Essential Domestic Debts

To be eligible for financial assistance, you must be a British Gas customer on the day the application is made and should be in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

• Income Support/JSA/Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit with an income of less than £15,000
• DLA with an income of less than £15,000
• Council Tax and/or Housing Benefit
• Working Tax Credit with an income of less than £15,000 and which must include a disability element

The trust can award for the following:

• Fuel Debts
• Further Assistance Payments (FAP’s) for other essential domestic bills and costs.
• FAP’s for essential household items eg: cookers, fridges, washing machines

The trust cannot award for the following:

• Court Fines
• Educational/Training Needs
• Tax or National Insurance Debts
• Tenancy Deposits
• Medical Equipment
• Holidays
• Benefit Overpayments
• Business Debts
• Unsecured Debts (catalogues, loans, credit cards)
